Andrew York Concert and Seven Bridges Guitar Festival
Michael Jordan is a St. Augustine-based acoustic guitarist celebrated for his unconventional, self-taught lap-style technique. Laying the guitar flat across his lap, he weaves together simultaneous percussion, tapping, and alternate tunings. Using his right wrist, fist, and fingers to drum on the instrument’s body while picking intricate melodies, Jordan transforms a single six-string into the rich, layered sound of an entire band. His repertoire draws warmly from delta blues, Americana folk, southern rock, and modern hymns. Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Jordan quickly became a beloved staple of Northeast Florida’s acoustic and folk scenes where he has performed at the Florida Theater, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and opened for greats including John Mayall and Andy McKee.
